On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, Mata Media Organisation and Mata Media Foundation paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, led by the Honourable Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, FNIPR.
Representing the two organisations were Fauziyya Kabir Tukur, Managing Director of Mata Media Organisation, and Halima Umar Saleh, Chairperson of Mata Media Foundation.
The visit was an opportunity to introduce our organisations, share our work and vision, and explore avenues for collaboration to strengthen women’s participation in journalism, support female journalists, and amplify women’s voices in Nigeria’s media landscape.
As an all-women newsroom focused on telling stories that matter to women, and a foundation committed to training, mentoring and empowering women journalists—particularly in Northern Nigeria—we believe meaningful partnerships are essential to creating a stronger, more inclusive media ecosystem.
